Unclaimed $1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold In Middlesex County

Really check your pockets! An unclaimed Cash4Life ticket, valued at $1,000,000, was purchased in Milltown last year and expires Dec. 8.

MILLTOWN, NJ — Check your pockets — seriously! An unclaimed CASH4LIFE prizewinning ticket, with a cash value of $1,000,000, was purchased in Middlesex County last year and it's due to expire on Dec. 8, 2017.

The ticket was purchased for the Dec. 8, 2016 drawing and will expire Dec. 8 this year if it isn't claimed by then. The ticket was purchased at the Joyce Kilmer rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike in Milltown, Middlesex County.

“Is the ticketholder a traveler passing through our state or a resident participating in a day of travel? We hope to meet the ticket owner to hear the story firsthand," said Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director.

The winning numbers from the Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 drawing were: 08, 28, 29, 49 and 57. The Cash Ball was: 03. The winning ticket will match all five of the white balls, but not the Cash ball, drawn that evening. The winner must have possession of the ticket to claim the prize. This is a second-tier, $1,000 a week for life prize.

Anyone holding the winning ticket should immediately sign the back and contact Lottery Headquarters at 609-599-5800, or visit any New Jersey Lottery retailer to validate the ticket. Once validated, the retailer will provide the ticketholder with a validation slip and completed claim form that they can bring to Lottery Headquarters during business hours, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday or mail.

This is the second recent occurrence of a New Jersey Lottery Cash4Life winning ticket that almost expired. Last year, a Vermont woman, Melissa Corcia, claimed her ticket with just five days to spare.
