Viking Closet Offers Free Prom Dresses April 4

Viking Closet allows girls to attend the prom without the financial worry that comes with the expense of a dress, shoes, handbag, or jewelry.

On Thursday, April 4, South Brunswick High School will host its second annual Viking Closet Prom Dress Drive, entitled “The Sisterhood  of the Traveling Prom Dresses."

This year’s theme is inspired by the movie “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."  The objective was to encourage recent graduates and the community to share their memories of prom, by sharing their prom dresses with the students of SBHS.

Because of the generous donations, many girls now have the chance to attend prom without the financial worry that comes with the expense of a dress, shoes, handbag, or jewelry.

The Viking Closet Club members, student volunteers, staff, and the community will be on hand to assist students in selecting the prom dress of their dreams.

The Annex Math Lab on the third floor will be transformed into an elegant dress shop.  We want every girl to feel special the minute they walk in the doors.

Any female SBHS student is welcome to come and shop. Over 300 dresses have been donated to this year’s event. An overwhelming response from a truly very caring community.

The Prom event is located at South Brunswick High School in the Annex Math Lab.  The event runs from 2:45 p.m. until 6 p.m. The doors will stay open past 5 p.m. so that even the students in the after school programs will be able to participate.

Thanks to the local businesses in the area that are donating their time and money to this event: Regency Cleaners, The Rasoi III Restaurant and Banquet Hall, Target, Chartwells,  and Café Colore.
