Vikings Return Home Tonight to Face Old Bridge

After last week's , the undefeated Vikings return home tonight to battle Old Bridge at 7 p.m.

The Vikings will look to continue rolling on offense, after scoring on seven of 10 possessions against Monroe. SBHS ran the ball 44 times for 330 yards, with no player carrying the ball more than 10 times against last week. Ten different runners finished with positive yardage.

Darrell Harper had 111 yards on six carries. Harper had touchdown runs of 37 and 25 yards in the second quarter. Dion Hooper had touchdown runs of 1, 1 and 5 yards. Hooper carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards. Jevon Tyree had only one carry, but that produced a 60-yard touchdown in the first quarter for South Brunswick's first score. Tre Tisdale (8-57), TJ Perkowski (4-23), Dahrae Ford (6-22), David Flanders (2-9), Azim Blakey (2-8), Ryan Woisznies (3-5) and Gorzynski (2-3) also rushed for positive yardage. South Brunswick only attempted two passes and completed one against Monroe. The completion was a 46-yard touchdown pass from Dan Gorzynski to Tre Tisdale.

On defense it was a team effort for the Vikes, as a total of 17 players -- Isnard Mir-Merced, Alex Bercutta, Hooper, TJ Taylor, Joe Pietrefesa, Jake Pietrefesa, Harper, Tisdael, Flanders, Stonkus, Bob Spilatore, Chris Molnar, Ken Drost, Blakey, Nick Cima, Zhamir Ibezim and Trey Taylor -- all had tackles.

Old Bridge is 2-3, having shared three common opponents with SBHS. Old Bridge opened the season on Sept. with a 30-12 loss to Woodbridge, who South Brunswick defeated 28-24 on Oct. 9. 

Old Bridge defeated Monroe by a score of 35-26 on Sept. 16, and were crushed by Piscataway 48-0 on Oct. 6. SBHS defeated Piscataway 28-7 on Sept. 16.
