Vikings Triumph in First Round of State Playoffs
South Brunswick defeated Hillsborough 35-21 Friday evening.

South Brunswick High School opened the first round of the NJSIAA state football playoffs in style with a resounding victory over Hillsborough 35-21 Friday evening.
The Vikings were led by T.J. Perkowski, who finished with 108 passing yards and 103 rushing yards. Perkowski also had one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown.
Star running back Dahrae Ford rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns in the winning effort.

SBHS trailed 14-7 in the second quarter before the Vikings rang off 21 unanswered points, starting with a 63-yard Perkowski run. Dion Hooper also added a 57-yard touchdown run.
Second seeded South Brunswick (7-2) now moves on to the second round of the Group IV playoffs, where they will play third seeded Old Bridge (7-2), who defeated Montgomery 40-34 last night. The second round matchup between SBHS and Old Bridge is set for Nov. 30.

The Vikings will next be in action on Thanksgiving for the annual showdown with North Brunswick (2-8).
