Vital Part Of Department: South Brunswick PD Chief Thanks Dispatchers

On National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, police chief Raymond Hayducka paid tribute to the department's telecommunicators.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – During the second week of April every year the nation honors public safety telecommunicators by celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW).

The week honors the the commitment, service, and sacrifice of public safety telecommunicators.

Police Chief Raymond Hayducka acknowledged the work done by the telecommunicators, saying they were essential part of the police department.

“Our Public Safety Telecommunicators are a vital part of the police department. It is through their dedication to service, attention to detail, and commitment to the community that our officers can do their jobs well and stay safe, and the residents of South Brunswick Township can receive the best service possible,” Hayducka said.

“Our PSTs are highly trained, extremely effective, and do a difficult job amazingly well. We want to wish them a Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.”

The National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week was first started in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in California.

President Bill Clinton signed Presidentail Proclamation 6667 in 1994, declaring the second week of April as NPSTW.
