One council seat and the mayoral spot are up for grabs this November. Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary elections.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — One council seat is up for grabs this year in South Brunswick, as is the mayoral spot, according to the township clerk.
Incumbents Charles Carley and Kenneth Bierman, both Democrats, are looking to keep their seats for another term.
Mayor Carley is facing a primary challenge from Arthur L. Robinson, who is running under the slogan “Efficiency, Transparency in Municipal Government.” Councilman Bierman does not have a primary challenger.

The Middlesex County Republican Organization is fielding Michael J. Havardansky for mayor and John J. Anthony for council.

The 2022 primary election takes place on Tuesday, June 7 in New Jersey. The winners will earn their party's nomination for the general election, which takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and will also include independent candidates.
