Willows Swim Team Keeps Rolling

The Willows swim team continued strong in their 2011 season, competing in 2 dual meets, netting a 4-1 record thus far.  Last Wednesday, the Willows hosted Chatham. 

The Willows won 152 to 112.    

Then the Willows hosted Cedar Hill and swam to another victory, 155 to 120.  During the week, seven pool records were broken and a new event record was established.  

First, Harrison Kudwitt broke the 13/14 boys 100 meter butterfly with a time of 1:11.96 while his brother Andrew Kudwitt broke the 15/18 boys 100 meter freestyle with a time of 56.81. 

A new event, 13/18 50 free was broken twice this week, Gessica Charniga established a record in the 13/18 girls 50 meter freestyle with a time of 29.31, while Andrew Kudwitt swam the 13/18 boys 50 meter freestyle in 26.07, breaking his record from the prior week.  In addition, 2 boys relays and one girls relay record were shattered. 

First the 13/18 boys, Harrison Kudwitt, Justin Atkinson, Ryan Finch and Andrew Kudwitt swam the 200 meter medley relay in 2:03.43 and the 200 meter free relay in just 1:48.33.  The 13/18 girls, Emily Charniga, Christina Napoli, Cassie Cipriano and Gessica Charniga swam the 200 meter free relay in record time, 2:03.31.
