UPDATE: North Brunswick Teacher Is Fatal Victim In South Brunswick Car Crash

Police closed Deans Hall Road between Fresh Ponds and Cranbury Roads for a time during the investigation.

A North Brunswick middle school teacher was the victim of a fatal car crash in South Brunswick on Wednesday.

Aubrey Pappas, a teacher at Linwood Middle School, was the accident victim. “She had a great impact on the students, and she was a really great person. And I know you will get that from everyone who knew her,” according to Sidharth Tata, an eighth-grader at the school, as reported by mycentraljersey.com.

At 1:55 p.m. police received several 911 calls reporting an accident on Deans Rhode Hall Road about a quarter mile west of the New Jersey Turnpike overpass.

Rescue workers from the Monmouth Junction and Brookview Fire Departments and an EMS crew from South Brunswick responded, along with paramedics. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation found the woman was traveling east on Deans Rhode Hall Road when her vehicle left the road and struck a tree off the right shoulder of the road. The vehicle then spun back into the roadway before coming to rest in the westbound lane.
