Woman in Home When Man Breaks Glass Door in South Brunswick
A home invasion occurred Wednesday night on Davinci Drive in South Brunswick, police report.

South Brunswick, NJ - South Brunswick Police are investigating a Wednesday night burglary to a home.
The incident took place at 8:45 p.m. on Davinci Drive off Stouts Lane near South Brunswick High School, said Captain James Ryan. A woman was upstairs in her home when she heard a breaking noise coming from the first floor of her residence. She went downstairs and observed a small hole in her kitchen sliding glass door. A minute later the suspect pushed through the broken glass door and entered the kitchen. The woman yelled and ran out of the house.
The suspect also ran out of the house once he realized someone was home, Ryan said.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6’02”, stocky build, with a mustache or slight beard. He was wearing a black or brown jacket. The suspect ran from the home and got into a vehicle that was parked on a darkened cul-de-sac at the end of Palladio Boulevard. The vehicle was a dark grey Honda or Toyota.
Burglaries are down so far this year in South Brunswick township, Ryan said, and said Wednesday night's incident was "unusual, so we want to get as much information out as possible."

"The first floor was totally dark so we believe the suspect had no idea anyone was home," he said. "He was startled by seeing the homeowner and fled right away."
South Brunswick Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed any unusual activity on Wednesday evening in the area off Stouts Lane. Detectives are also looking for any home or commercial surveillance video of the area. Anyone with information is asked to call the South Brunswick Police Detective Bureau at (732)329-4000 ext. 7496.
