Woman Sexually Assaulted At D&R Canal Park Near South Brunswick
Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area is asked to contact authorities. The assault happened the evening of Sept. 28.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A woman was sexually assaulted in the area of Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park on the border of Plainsboro and South Brunswick, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
On Sept.28, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., a woman was walking on a path adjacent to the canal when she was approached by a man armed with a weapon and moved to a secondary location on the Plainsboro-South Brunswick border, where she was sexually assaulted, authorities said.
The suspect is believed to be a Hispanic man, around 5’5” –5’6” tall, wearing dark-colored clothing and a dark baseball cap, Ciccone said.

Ciccone, along with Chief Raymond Hayducka of the South Brunswick Police Department and Chief Fred Tavener of the Plainsboro Police Department, announced they were jointly investigating the aggravated sexual assault.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
