Woman Steals Baby Formula, Then Punches Target Worker: Report

A New Brunswick woman caused havoc in a West Windsor Target, according to a police report.

A New Brunswick woman caused havoc in a West Windsor-area Target earlier this month.

On Nov. 8, Shante K. Walker, 26, allegedly tried to steal 33 containers of baby formula from the store by putting the containers in a suitcase. She put the items into a suitcase she had picked up in the store, and then tried to merely pay for the suitcase at checkout, police allege.

When a store employee stopped her, she refused to open the suitcase. He stood in front of her shopping cart, and she threatened to shoot the employee, according to the report. She then threw several “roundhouse-style” punches at him, landing one in the back of his head, police said.

The employee knocked her to the ground, police said, “followed up with a few quick punches,” according to the report on Nixle. Walker pretended to be unconscious before getting up and leaving the store. She was later found hiding under a car in the parking lot.

She was arrested and found to have several outstanding warrants, including one from South Plainfield.
