Women's March on New Jersey Planned For January 21

If you would like to attend the Women's March on Washington on Saturday, Jan. 21 but cannot, a similar event is being held in Trenton, New Jersey. On Saturday, January 21, a march will be held in Trenton to rally in solidarity with marchers in Washington, D.C. and at the over 170 sister marches being held across the country and world, organizers say. While none of the protests specifically mention President-elect Donald Trump by name, they are being held the day after his Jan. 20 inauguration.
"Our goal is to have 1,000 people in attendance, however, personally I believe we may double that number by the day of the march," one of the organizers, Elizabeth Meyer told Patch. Participants say reproductive rights and healthcare access are of a top concern.
Protesters are asked to meet at the Trenton War Memorial at 10 a.m. on Jan. 21. They will march approximately a half of a mile to the steps of the New Jersey State House. They are asking marchers to wear purple. On the Jersey Shore, a group of women are marching in Red Bank on Saturday, January 21, as well. They will meet in Riverside Gardens Park at 3 p.m.
