Your Neighbors Now Know A Lot More About the Police

Meet your neighbors who are part of the community police program in South Brunswick.

No, they can’t arrest you. But these 24 South Brunswick residents now know a lot more about the behind-the-scenes work of policing.

Twenty four residents graduated from the South Brunswick Citizen Police Academy Tuesday night. The ceremony, held at the South Brunswick Senior Center, was the culmination of 10 weeks of study.

The program offered a behind-the-scenes look at policing taught by South Brunswick police officers. The students were given hands-on-training on how police process crime scenes, including photographing and dusting for prints. They sat in a police chase driving simulator and received firsthand perspective on emergency and pursuit driving. They were also taught how to respond to a domestic violence situation and how to give First Aid.
