2 Assaults Reported In South Orange: Gas Station Attack, Man Jumped By Multiple People: PD

South Orange PD: An argument took place over a gasoline sale. A man was attacked by people who were driving in the area.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Two assaults were recently reported in South Orange over a two-day span, authorities say.

The South Orange Police Department released the following details about each incident:

Aug. 29 – Patrol officers responded to the area of Wilden Place after getting a report about an assault. A 20-year-old male told officers that he was attacked by multiple people who were driving in the area. He was treated for his injuries and the detective bureau was notified, authorities said.

Aug. 30 – Patrol officers responded to a business on Irvington Avenue. A man in a red Dodge Challenger got out of his car after a dispute over a gasoline sale, entered the attendant's booth, hit the worker and drove away. The South Orange police detective bureau is investigating the assault, authorities said.
