• South Orange Incorporates Feedback into Revised Valley Street Redevelopment Plan (villagegreennj.com) — South Orange officials have significantly revised the Valley Street Redevelopment Plan after residents raised concerns about stormwater, historic preservation, sustainability, and protections for existing homes. The updated framework adds tougher green infrastructure rules, clearer standards for large projects, preserves space for a future Valley Street Trail, and explicitly rules out eminent domain. It now heads to the Planning Board in October, with another public hearing still to come.
   

• Video, Photos: Bald Eagle Seen at South Orange Middle School This Week (villagegreennj.com) — A South Orange Middle School science teacher spotted a bald eagle perched on a pole in the school parking lot during first period this week and captured photos and video as it flew over the nearby pond. After ten years at the school, he says he's never seen a bald eagle there before and shared the footage hoping neighbors might report other local sightings or nesting spots.
