Deadly Union County Shooting Under Investigation

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Union County authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 39-year-old Plainfield man dead Sunday morning.

Police responded at approximately 10:49 a.m. to the area of Campbell Field on the 1300 block of East 3rd Street after reports of a shooting, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

When officers arrived, they found Tyquan Jones of Plainfield suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, officials said.

Officials said information leading to an arrest or indictment may be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.
