Springfield May Open Door To Cannabis Retail, Township Committee To Vote Tuesday (patch.com) — Springfield residents may soon see legal cannabis retail in town, as the Township Committee is set to vote tonight on restarting its cannabis subcommittee and accepting license applications. The meeting will also cover the 2026 municipal budget, a land use ordinance change, Route 22 and Mountain Avenue road work, new police vehicles, and temporary use of the community pool parking lot for production needs.

The 2026 Police Athletic League Fishing Derby is a catch (unionnewsdaily.com) — A longtime Springfield resident, Al Mickens, was among many families enjoying the free Police Athletic League fishing derby at Summit Municipal Golf Course, where more than 1,000 trout were stocked. 3. The county commissioners announced the 2026 recipients on Mother’s Day, highlighting local leaders whose work improves daily life in towns like Springfield and beyond.    

4. Ranking The 18 Best And Worst Golf Clubs To Host Multiple PGA Championships (brobible.com) — Springfield golfers will notice Baltusrol Golf Club earns a high spot on this national ranking of courses that have hosted multiple PGA Championships, underscoring its prestige in the golf world.
