• Union County event revisits 1780 battles shaping NJ history (mycentraljersey.com) — Union County is hosting a June 24 program exploring the Revolutionary War battles of Springfield and Connecticut Farms, key moments fought on ground still familiar to local residents. Held at Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside, the event will use maps, pension records, and archaeological finds to bring Springfield’s 1780 history to life as part of America’s 250th anniversary commemorations.
