SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A Mountainside woman was charged after police said she crashed near a Route 22 liquor store, left the scene, and was later found driving a heavily damaged vehicle.
According to the Springfield Police Department, officers responded to the liquor store on June 23 after receiving a report of a hit-and-run crash.
Police said the driver, a 60-year-old Mountainside woman, was later located in Mountainside behind the wheel of a heavily damaged vehicle.
She was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence, refusing to submit breath samples, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Police did not release additional details about the crash, including whether anyone was injured.
