SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield officials have opened cooling centers this week as the National Weather Service's Heat Advisory remains in effect.
Residents can cool off at the following locations:
Officials encourage residents to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, and spend time in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
Seniors, people with chronic health conditions, and those without air conditioning are at higher risk during periods of extreme heat. Residents are also urged to check on vulnerable family members, friends, and neighbors.
