Attempted Bank Robber Arrested In Springfield

Springfield Police Chief John Cook thanked the public for contacting the police department with tips that aided in the investigation.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — An Irvington man was arrested in connection with an attempted bank robbery in Springfield last week.

Raekwon Robinson-Henrique, 22, was arrested on June 26 and charged with second-degree robbery after turning himself in to the Springfield Police Department.

Detectives investigating the attempted robbery that occurred last week at the Bank of America on Morris Avenue in Springfield, identified Robinson-Henrique as a person of interest.

Robinson-Henrique is currently being held at Union County Jail pending his first court appearance.

“The foundation of successful law enforcement begins with a positive and cooperative relationship between the police and the public,” Springfield Police Chief John Cook said as he thanked the public for contacting the police department with tips that aided in the investigation.
