Attempted Burglary While Owners Home Reported In Springfield

An unknown person attempted to break into a home on Meisel Avenue, but fled the area after realizing the homeowners were present: police.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield Police are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred on Friday around 9 p.m.

An unknown person attempted to break into a home on Meisel Avenue, but fled the area after realizing the homeowners were present.

The homeowners called 911 and Springfield Police Officers along with the Union County Sheriff's K9 Unit responded.

"This appears to be an isolated incident, but residents should remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the Police Department," Springfield Police Department reported.
