Caldwell Ave. Set To Reopen June As Springfield Culvert Project Nears Finish Line
The culvert has been capped and filled; crews will spend the next several weeks on utility work and roadway restoration before reopening.
SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Caldwell Avenue culvert project in Springfield remains on schedule for a targeted June 26 reopening, Township Committee member Christopher Capodice announced this week.
The culvert has been capped and filled, and crews will spend the next several weeks on utility coordination, roadway restoration and final site work as the project moves toward completion.
"We're now roughly about a month away from reopening, and overall progress continues moving steadily in the right direction," Capodice said.

Capodice acknowledged the closure has disrupted traffic patterns and daily routines for many residents over the past several months.
"This is one of Springfield Township's major long-term infrastructure projects, and once completed, it should provide a reliable improvement that serves the township well for decades to come," he said.
