Comic Opera "H.M.S. Pinafore" in Concert

Back By popular demand, the Richwood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company will return to Springfield Public Library on Sunday, December 14 at 2:00 pm.

Set aboard a British naval warship, H.M.S Pinafore centers on a love story between people of different social classes while also poking gentle fun at party politics, patriotism, and the rise of unqualified people to positions of authority. Well known tunes from the play include “We sail the Ocean Blue”, “I am Called Little Buttercup”, ”Now Give Three Cheers”, and ”When I Was a Lad“.
