Congregation Israel Celebrates Educational and Cultural Programs at Awards Dinner

Over 250 people showed up for the Orthodox temple's annual gala.

Over 250 people gathered at the Crystal Plaza for’s 37th Annual Dinner on March 13.

The cocktail reception preceding the ceremonies honored members of the Congregation and attendees were able to personally meet the honorees and thank them for their dedication to CIS.

The Dinner Committee worked with Crystal Plaza/Alpine Caterer’s Alan Janoff to arrange a sumptuous cocktail buffet and dinner. The Dinner and Journal Program provided the funds needed to run CIS’ cultural and educational programming.

  • Ms. Eliorah Sandman        Joseph Tammam Memorial Scholarship Award


The Joseph Tammam Memorial Scholarship Award was presented by Mrs. Sondra Tammam, trustee of the fund and widow of Joseph Tammam, z”l. Program Coordinator for the evening was former president Abraham Borenstein, Esq.

Rabbi Chaim Marcus, spiritual leader of CIS, began the program with a Dvar Torah/Invocation.
