DUI, Shoplifting, Drug Arrests Made By Springfield Police

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A total eight people were arrested in Springfield recently on charges including driving under the influence, shoplifting, marijuana possession and more.

Springfield Police Blotter:

On July 11 – On June 29, Officers responded to a business on Route 22 on a report of shoplifting. On July 11, a follow up investigation by the detective bureau resulted in the arrests of a 26-year-old Shirley, New York man, and a 24-year-old Shoreham, New York woman. The 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with theft as well as resisting arrest and obstruction. The 24-year-old woman was arrested and charged with theft and obstruction.

On July 12 – A 29-year-old Plainfield man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Maple Avenue.

On July 13 – A 26-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with possession of a counterfeit credit card as a result of a detective bureau investigation into a report of a fraudulent credit card used at a Route 22 business.

On July 13 – On June 8, a Route 22 business reported a shoplifting incident. As a result of a detective bureau investigation, a 43-year-old East Orange man was charged with theft.

On July 14 – A 42-year-old North Plainfield man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

On July 14 – A 23-year-old Madison man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

On July 15 – A 51-year-old Springfield woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of a motor vehicle stop on South Springfield Avenue.

Patrol Officers made an additional six arrests on outstanding warrants out of Springfield Municipal Court, Westfield, Newark, West Orange, Union, Rahway, Roselle, Irvington, Bloomfield and South Plainfield.
