The Springfield Free Public
Library is offering an opportunity for amateur photographers of all ages to win
prizes, exhibit their work, and become a part of Springfield’s history. The theme of the contest is “Seasons”. Photographers will have the chance to
contribute to the building of Springfield’s visual archives for future
historians, and the photographs will be available on the Springfield Free
Public Library web site.
Each contestant may enter up to two
8x10 or 11x14 framed photographs.
Frames should be basic black and the entries may be dropped off at the
library in person or by mail.
Photographs must also be submitted on a CD as a tiff file. Contestants may obtain one free print from
Mack Camera for each entry using a coupon available at the library, where the
entry form is also available. All
entries must be received by November 2nd.
Entries will be judged by a panel
and winners will be selected in several categories. All framed entries will be hung in the Donald B.
Palmer Museum from December 3rd, 2012 through January 4th, 2013.
