The Lunchtime Film Series Continues at Springfield Free Public Library

15-year-old William (Patrick Fugit) loves rock journalism. After a breakthrough interview with Stillwater (an up-and-coming band) he's approached by Rolling Stone Magazine. They ask him to tour with the band (!) and write a follow-up. In doing so, he befriends guitarist Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and falls for "Penny Lane" (Kate Hudson), one of their groupies. Director Cameron Crowe's stint as a rock writer inspired this film. Almost Famous' original score was composed by Nancy Wilson of Heart (who is also Crowe's wife). 122 minutes. Rated R.
