When Soviet spy Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance) was captured in 1957, James B. Donovan (Tom Hanks) became his lawyer. Their trial, however, was largely for show. Later, Donovan received a plea bargain: exchange Abel for a U.S. pilot downed in Russia. Both CIA and KGB agents wanted the deal made on their terms. Bridge of Spies was directed by Steven Spielberg. 142 minutes. Rated PG-13.
