Lunchtime Film Series at Springfield Public Library

"Best Picture Winners of Years Past" series concludes on Monday, February 29th at 1:00 PM.

William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) is on a cold streak. He has a bad case of writer’s block, and the theater he’s writing for is in debt. The Bard’s solvency rides on an (unwritten) new comedy, "Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter." Meanwhile, theater-goer Lady Viola (Gwyneth Paltrow) is about to be married off and sent to the New World. In an act of rebellion, she dresses as a young man and wins the part of Romeo. Shakespeare discovers the deception but goes along with it, having found his muse. 123 minutes. Rated R.
