Man Tried To Lure, Meet Girl For Sex In Union County: Police

UNION, NJ — A man who tried to lure and meet a 13-year-old girl for sex in Union County has been arrested, New Jersey State Police report.

Felix Jimenez-Romero, 36, of Hyattsville, Maryland was charged with luring/enticing a child, promoting prostitution of a minor, and attempted sexual assault.

Jimenez-Romero reportedly used Skout, an online social networking and dating site, on Feb. 7 to talk who he thought was a 13-year-old girl. The girl was instead a State Police detective posing as the girl, police report.

Despite knowing the victim’s age, Jimenez-Romero suggested a meeting and offered compensation in exchange for sex, police report.

The meeting was set to occur in Union Township later that evening. When Jimenez-Romero arrived at the parking lot of the diner, detectives placed him under arrest.

Felix Jimenez-Romero was lodged in Union County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
