New Leadership for Congregation Israel
Adam Hanover will be president of the Congregation.
Earlier this month, chose new officers and board members to lead the Orthodox community in the new year.
Adam Hanover was named president, succeeding outgoing president Leonard Bielory, MD.
Fellow members of the congregation praised Hanover, a Congregation Israel longtime member, for his work ethic on behalf of the religious community.

“He is an excellent listener and can forge coalitions amongst members who may have divergent interests,” Congregation member David S. Frank said. “He brings a very strong background as an attorney and a CPA to provide leadership and oversight to CIS affairs.”
Frank, along with David Schiffman and Ben Hoffer, were sworn onto the board as Vice Presidents. The Board also named Howard Titen Treasurer and Rick Covkin Financial Secretary. Judy Sandman will be recording secretary and Joshua Smilow will be the corresponding secretary.

New Trustees include Marty Aron, Cheryl Becker, Sarah Lachs, Roberta Ostrow and John Ricard. The new officers and board members, as well as their outgoing colleagues, were honored by a dinner held at the synagogue.
