Petey Is Springfield's Pet Of The Week

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Meet Petey! He has been chosen as Springfield Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"Petey is a recent New York City transplant who is loving his new back yard on South Maple Avenue. He is already well known to his neighbors for running through their back yards to say hello and trying to play with the neighborhood groundhogs.

He's a sweet guy who rarely barks and can be found at any of the local dog parks on the weekend. Believe it or not, he's not named after 'Petey' from Little Rascals, but a friend of ours who posed as our old landlord to give us permission to bring the little man home."

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com. Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the part of town you're from. You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today.
