Photos Released In Search For Thanksgiving Fatal Hit-And-Run
Authorities are asking for the public's help to find a Nissan Murano wanted for fatally hitting an Elizabeth woman on Thanksgiving night.
ELIZABETH, NJ — Authorities have released images of a vehicle wanted in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Elizabeth on Thanksgiving night.
The victim, Candace Raymond, 62, of Elizabeth was found suffering from multiple injuries ar around 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 22 at the intersection of Cherry and Murray streets near Elizabeth’s downtown, acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan said.
The vehicle involved immediately left the area in the direction of West Jersey Street, Monahan said.

Raymond was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short while later.
Authorities found several damaged pieces of the wanted vehicle’s frame at the scene and identified the car as a black Nissan Murano, model year 2003-2005.

Photos released include two pulled from surveillance video footage in the area that show the wanted vehicle taken around the time of the crash and a stock photo of the vehicle.
The SUV likely would have had noticeable damage to the front bumper and fog lights, Monahan said.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area that night or may have spotted a vehicle fitting that description in the days that followed to contact Elizabeth Police Department Traffic Division Detective Rich Hernandez at 908-603-9679.
