Primary Day 2017: Who's On The Ballot, Where To Vote In Springfield
Tuesday, June 6, is also the final day to register as an independent candidate, and unaffiliated voters can vote in the primaries.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — On Tuesday, June 6 voters will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the primary election. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Locally in Springfield Township there are two - 3 year seats up for grab. The primaries are currently uncontested with one republican and one democrat vying for a spot.

- Christopher Capodice, 122 Henshaw Avenue, Springfield 07081 - Dem
- Geri Ann Bujnowski, 128 Short Hills Avenue, Springfield 07081 - Rep
On the county level there are three - 3 year term seats open for freeholder, which is uncontested. There is also one - 3 year term open for county sheriff, which is contested in the Democrat race with two candidates vying for a spot.

County Sheriff – One – 3 year term
- Peter Corvelli, 40 N. 6th Street, Kenilworth 07033 - Dem
- Gail Smith, Alexander 1437 Edwin Place, Plainfield 07062 - Dem
- Marc A. Krauss, 43 Owaissa Avenue, Springfield 07081 - Rep
Tuesday at 4 p.m. is also the deadline for candidates to file independent bids to run for public office. Unaffiliated voters can vote in Tuesday’s primaries by showing up at the polls and registering with the party of the primary in which they intend to vote. Voters can change their affiliation back after the election is over.

- District 10, 13, 14 - Edward V. Walton School, 601 Mountain Ave
- District 11, 12 - Thelma Sandmeier School, 666 S Springfield Ave
