Saint James the Apostle School Honors Veterans
The school continues its tradition of participating in Springfield's Veteran's Day Memorial Service
Saint James the Apostle School students in Grades 2 through 8 had the privilege of attending the annual Springfield Veterans Day Memorial Service at Veterans Park. As part of the ceremony, 7th grader Yvonne Agyapong read the resolution passed 90 years ago in 1926 that called for the observance of November 11th with appropriate ceremonies. Year after year, Saint James the Apostle School students attend this annual tribute with appreciation for those men and women veterans, past and present, who have sacrificed their time, strength, ambition, health and even their lives on this earth to benefit ‘friends,’ known and unknown. The student body then sang “God Bless America” led by Saint James Parish cantor, Michelle Sblendorio.
Saint James the Apostle School has been serving the parishioners of Saint James the Apostle Church in Springfield and surrounding communities since 1953. Saint James the Apostle School offers students from PreK-3 through grade eight a Roman Catholic faith-based education which acknowledges each child's individual ability to achieve their fullest potential academically, socially, and spiritually.
Saint James the Apostle School is located at 41 S. Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. Call 973-376-5194 or Email sjschool@sjspringfield.org for more information.
