Springfield Man Admits Having Child Porn For Second Time
Sam Cynamon, 67, of Monroe and formerly of Springfield had already served a prison term for a prior child porn conviction.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — For the second time, a former Springfield local admitted to having multiple images of prepubescent children being sexually abused, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Sam Cynamon, 67, who now lives in Monroe Township pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Madeline Cox Arleo in Newark federal court to one count of possession of child pornography.
Cynamon had previously pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 27 months in prison in March 2005.

On July 10, 2017, authorities took multiple computers and electronic storage media — which contained multiple images and videos of child pornography, including images of prepubescent children being sexually abused — from his home, according to documents filed in the case and statements made in court.
Because of his prior conviction, the count of possession of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum potential penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison, and a $250,000 fine.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 19.
