Springfield Locals Arrested For Cocaine, DUI

Springfield Police also reported making several arrests for theft and marijuana possession, according to the blotter.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Two Springfield locals were arrested recently for driving under the influence and cocaine possession, according to the police blotter.

Springfield Police Blotter:

On April 13: A 38-year-old Dunellen man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

On April 18: A 27-year-old Roselle man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

On April 20: As a result of a detective bureau investigation of a theft from a business on Route 22 on March 18, a 67-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with theft of movable property.

On April 21: A 62-year-old Springfield man was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and narcotics paraphernalia, and a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics paraphernalia as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Wabeno Avenue.

On April 22: A 62-year-old Springfield man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a breath test after the vehicle he was operating was observed obstructing traffic on Route 22.

On April 29: Officers were detailed to Route 22 after a man was observed attempting to leave a business without paying for items and had fled the scene on foot. The suspect, a 23-year-old Maplewood man, was located by responding officers and was arrested and charged with theft.

On April 30: A 28-year-old Vauxhall man was charged with driving under the influence following a motor vehicle crash on Shunpike Road.

Patrol Officers also made a total of 15 warrant arrests. Five warrants were out of Springfield Municipal Court, with the remaining 11 being out of Parsippany, Elizabeth, Union, Verona, Newark, Millburn, Scotch Plains, Jefferson, and Essex County.
