Springfield Man Among 3 Arrested For DWI In Summit
Multiple drug possession and driving while intoxicated arrested were made by Summit Police, according to the police blotter.

SUMMIT, NJ — A Springfield man was among three arrested for driving while intoxicated in Summit, according to the police blotter.
On March 5, Javier Garcia-Vargas, 34, of Springfield was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Garcia-Vargas was processed and released with a pending court date, police report.

On Feb. 6: Angelika K. Miles, 23, of Berkeley Heights was arrested and charged with harassment. Miles was released with a pending court date.
On Feb. 11 at 3:22 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a parked motor vehicle. The incident occurred on Feb. 3 when the vehicle was left unattended in the Sampson Lot. Taken from the vehicle were a black, Ferragamo bi-fold wallet containing personal identification and several credit cards and an employment identification card. The victim reported the credit cards were utilized at several different locations in Newark for an unspecified amount of money. All credit cards were cancelled.

On Feb. 12 at 5:22 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported the vehicle had been stored overnight at a tow lot in Manhattan and had been towed to a location in Summit between Feb. 7 and Feb. 8. During that time, removed from the vehicle were an iPod and charger and approximately $100 in cash. Total value of the stolen items was $650.
On Feb. 17: Elijah S. McCullum, 19, of Edison was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of North Brunswick. McCullum was transported to North Brunswick where custody was turned over to their police department.
On Feb. 17: Andres F. Valdez-Uribe, 20, of Summit was arrested and charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS). Valdez-Uribe was released with a pending court date.
On Feb. 23 at 9:25 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a cell phone. The incident occurred in the downtown area of Summit. The victim attempted to track the cell phone with the “Find My Phone” app, however, after a short period of time the tracking was no longer working. The victim described the cell phone as a black iPhone 8 Plus with a sheer pink case. Total value of the cell phone was approximately $950.
On March 3: Daniel T. Lipkin, 20, of Millington was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of an alcoholic beverage under legal age. Lipkin was processed and released with a pending court date.
On March 3: Taurino Alday-Benitez, 28, of Summit was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Alday-Benitez was processed and released with a pending court date.
On March 4: Eldridge Gilbert, 50, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Gilbert was processed and released with a pending court date.
On March 4: Jasmere A. Tucker, 29, of East Orange was arrested for possession of marijuana and two contempt of court warrants out of Newark. Tucker was processed and released with a pending court date.
