SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield Police report making multiple arrests for driving under the influence, drug possession, shoplifting and more.
Springfield Police Blotter:
June 1: A 29-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana as a result of a motor vehicle stop. An investigation by the Detective Bureau resulted in additional charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

June 1: A 24-year-old Jackson woman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana as a result of a motor vehicle stop on South Springfield Avenue.
June 2: Officers responded to the parking lot of a business on Route 22 on a report of suspicious activity. A 38-year-old Holmdel woman was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and theft after items found on her person were determined to be stolen from a nearby Route 22 business. A 37-year-old Freehold man was arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit government identification and hindering apprehension.

June 5: A 19-year-old Plainfield man was arrested and charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of narcotics paraphernalia on Mountain Avenue.
June 5: A business on Route 22 reported a shoplifting incident on May 10. A follow up investigation by the Detective Bureau resulted in a 47-year-old Bayonne woman charged with theft.
June 6: A 21-year-old Plainfield man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and receiving stolen property as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.
June 8: Patrol officers responded to Morris Turnpike on a report of an unresponsive driver. Once awakened, the driver fled the scene. The driver, a 44-year-old Point Pleasant man, was arrested and charged with eluding police and reckless driving.
June 9: A 52-year-old Union man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after he was observed unresponsive behind the wheel of a running vehicle in a Morris Avenue parking lot.
June 11: A 24-year-old Piscataway woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after being observed driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of Route 22.
June 12: A 40-year-old Roselle man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.
June 12: A 21-year-old Springfield man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana on Short Hills Avenue.
June 13: A 29-year-old Mountainside man was arrested on outstanding warrants and additionally charged with failure to turn over narcotics to police and possession of a hypodermic needle as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.
Officers made four arrests on outstanding warrants out of Springfield Municipal Court, Hanover, Union, and Newark.
