Springfield School Crossing Guards Positions Open

School Crossing Guards work about 3 hours per day when an opening is available. School posts are from 7:15 to 9 a.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Springfield Police Department is looking to recruit school crossing guards.

School Crossing Guards work approximately three hours per day when an opening is available. School posts are from 7:15 to 9 a.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Times are subject to change based on the school schedule.

Crossing guards assist children in crossing the street on their way to and from school. Crossing guards provide safe crossings of the roadways and model appropriate street skills and behavior for children.

The Springfield Police Department will provide two hours of classroom training and 20 hours on the job training before being eligible for daily work.

If interested stop in and pick up an application at the Police Desk at 100 Mountain Ave. in Springfield.
