'The Intouchables' Kicks Off Library's International Film Festival Thursday

Film is rated R and will be shown at 1 and 7 p.m.

Looking to beat the heat and take in a foregin film? Springfield Public Library's Summer International Film Festival begins Thursday with two screenings of 'The Intouchables' (2011) at 1 and 7 p.m.

In French with English subtitles, the film tells the story of an aristocrat who becomes a quadriplegic after a paragliding accident. He hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker. 'The Intouchables' is directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache and stars Francois Cluzet, Omar Sy, and Anne Le Ny. 

The film, rated R, runs 112 minutes and will be shown in the meeting room. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
