Union County Homicide Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that took place late on New Year’s Day in Plainfield, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Friday.

The victim has been identified as Fatin Hunt, 20, of Clinton Avenue in Plainfield.

Police rushed to the 200 block of Richmond Street on a report of shots being fired late Thursday night to find Hunt suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m.

The case remains under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division.
