Video: Car Engulfs Into Flames On I-78 In Springfield
Springfield Fire Department captured this incredible video of their response to a car engulfed in flames on the side of I-78 on Tuesday.
SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield Fire Department captured this incredible video of their response to a car engulfed in flames on the side of I-78 on Tuesday.
The driver of a Nissan Altima was driving on I-78 westbound when his vehicle began smoking and pulled over onto the shoulder at milepost 50.2 in Springfield Township, Springfield Fire Captain Michael Mastroeni said.
The driver was already out of the car when it ignited into flames. Springfield firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze on scene.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation but Mastroeni said it looks like it could be linked to a possible fluid leak. He noted there was a trail of fluid leading to the car.
There were no reported injuries to the driver or any responding emergency officials.
