Where is Springfield's Farmers Market?

Farmers are unwilling to put down roots this season.

You can't have a farmers market without farmers and that's why you didn't see the annual Springfield Farmers Market sprout up in the Jonathan Dayton High School parking lot this week.

Springfield Township Clerk Linda Donnelly said the Township has been unable to secure farmers who are willing to participate.

"I’ve been working here for 10 years and we’ve always had a market," she said.

The market, typically held from noon to 6 p.m. each Monday starting in July, featured fresh fruit and vegetables as well as vendors who sold gourmet nuts, a variety of pickles and other specialty items.

Donnelly said "a couple of residents" have called to inquire about the market and added that if anything changes, she will let Patch know.
