A systems programmer at eSpeed, a division of Cantor Fitzgerald, Adler, 48, was known for writing complex computer programs off the top of his head.

According to his wife in an interview with the New York Times, Alice, Fitzgerald was a coach for all of the sports his daughter Lauren played and was a trustee of Temple Beth Ahm.

A vice president at Marsh & McLennan, Heltibridle, 46, was proud of her office on the 94th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower.

“We always called her a bottle of sunshine,” her niece said in an interview with the New York Times. “She was so beautiful, so down to earth.”
