SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Board of Education has elected Eileen Kelly as its new president following its annual reorganization meeting, marking a leadership change for the district going into the new term.
Kelly was unanimously selected to lead the board, taking over from outgoing President Melanie Cohn. She also took the oath of office during the meeting as a returning board member.
The board also swore in two new members during the reorganization. Kimberly Gianis joined the board as a newly elected member, while Jenny Hoff was appointed to complete the unexpired term of outgoing member Rick Hanley.
Outgoing President Melanie Cohn reflected on her time leading the board, saying it had been an honor to serve in the role and emphasizing the importance of keeping the focus on students and education.
The reorganization meeting formally marked the start of a new leadership cycle for the Summit Board of Education as members prepare for the year ahead.
