Police said the resident was upstairs when two loud bangs were heard near the front door. After going downstairs to check what happened, the resident opened the door and heard a car door slam before a vehicle quickly accelerated away from the area.

Authorities said the home’s door frame was damaged, and small pieces of wood were found outside near the entrance.

Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage from a nearby home that showed an SUV driving up and down the street before backing into a driveway nearby, according to police.

No suspect descriptions or identifying details about the vehicle were available from the footage, authorities said.

Police are asking anyone with information or surveillance video connected to the incident to contact the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau at 908-273-0051.
