• Parade Cancelled, Ceremony Delayed For Memorial Day In Summit (patch.com) — Summit residents are being asked to adjust their Memorial Day plans after city officials canceled Monday’s parade because of safety concerns tied to wet weather and equipment. The commemorative ceremony will still take place on the Village Green at 11 a.m., with officials encouraging the community to come out, once the rain clears, to honor fallen service members.    

• Union County awards $300,500 in local arts grants to 44 organizations (unionnewsdaily.com) — Several Summit arts groups just received a boost from Union County’s 2026 Local Arts Grant Program, including Summit Chorale, Summit Symphony, Summit Free Public Library, and Friends of Summit Public Art. These awards will help fund concerts, performances, and public art that residents can enjoy locally, while supporting a broader network of creative programs across Union County.
