1. $5M Firehouse Deal Falls Apart In Summit (patch.com) — Summit’s $5 million deal to sell the old Broad Street firehouse has collapsed, putting a key redevelopment site back in limbo and frustrating residents seeking answers. Common Council members now disagree over whether to quickly rebid the property or pause for new appraisals, as officials pursue escrow funds and reconsider the site’s future value.

2. Summit Residents Say Fear Persists Months After Fatal Briant Park Dog Attack (tapinto.net) — Summit neighbors near Briant Park are still anxious months after a fatal dog attack, saying a pit bull believed connected to the incident is reportedly still seen nearby, sometimes off leash. Police say the original case was fully adjudicated and urge residents to report any new animal concerns under the city’s strengthened aggressive dog ordinance.

3. NJ towns move to ban data centers as residents fear costs (app.com) — Summit officials have joined Warren Township in advancing zoning changes that would prohibit data centers, reflecting growing worries about energy use, noise, and higher utility costs. The move comes as towns across New Jersey clash over whether the tax benefits of AI-driven data centers outweigh potential impacts on residents’ quality of life and local infrastructure.

4. FRANKLIN: Robert "Bob" John Piana (town.news) — Friends and former classmates may remember Robert “Bob” Piana, who was born in Summit and graduated from Summit High School before building a life in Massachusetts.
